Vero Beach Power Squadron - Chartered in 1956

The Vero Beach Power Squadron (VBPS) is one of more than 400 squadrons nationwide which comprise the United States Power Squadron ® (USPS).  USPS mission "to promote recreational boating skills and boating safety through education, hands-on training, and civic activities while providing fellowship for members."
The Vero Beach Power Squadron is part of District 8  which includes squadrons on the east coast of Florida from Sebastian Inlet to Key West.
All squadrons are composed entirely of volunteers whose focus is in three areas, self education, civic service  and social activities.
In addition to offering boating educational courses ranging from Seamanship to Celestial Navigation and seminars ranging from Engine Maintenance to Weather, the VBPS offers free Vessel Safety Checks  and is involved in the Cooperative Charting  program.  Members also actively engage in many volunteer projects throughout the community, providing thousands of hours of civic service.
